The first models of the new Nissan electric car, the Leaf, have arrived in the north-east of England.
The car with zero carbon emissions is scheduled to be manufactured at the Nissan plant in Sunderland in 2013.
However, the first batch rolled off a car transporter from Japan and go on sale in March, 2011.
Not only is the new electric vehicle "green", so too is the ship on which it arrived.
BBC Look North's Adrian Pitches reports.
