Fans queue in Sunderland for Take That tickets

More than 100 of Take That fans in Sunderland braved the cold to queue up and be the first to get tickets for the extra dates added to the 2011 tour.

Four extra dates were added due to "phenomenal demand", two of which will take place at the Stadium of Light.

Fans queued for more than 12 hours starting at 9.45pm on Thursday 9 December for the tickets going on sale at 10am on Friday 10 December.

The gigs will take place at the end of May, 2011.

The new dates will be the opening dates of the Progress tour which will see Robbie Williams re-join the group for the live shows.

Fans queued up overnight and from the early hours of the morning in hope to get their hands on tickets.

Gemma Taylor, a journalism student from the University of Sunderland, was armed with hot chocolate, blankets and a sleeping bag to keep warm through the night.

She said: "I've been trying for four years and I've got nowhere, it's always been a dream to see them and because Robbie is back it'll be a great opportunity to see this tour."

The five-piece will now play four dates in Sunderland including 27, 28, 30 and 31 May, 2011.
