The series will be hosted by Diane Youdale, formerly Jet from the TV series Gladiators.

Diane said: "My background as an athlete and North of England gymnastics champion for many years gave me a great start in life.

"I had the opportunity to have constant access to good coaching and good facilities to develop in my sport and to have the ongoing support of others is really important.

"Had I not done any of that sport, I would not have had the opportunity to do any of the other things I have done in my life.

"It's great that BBC Look North Sports Kids is giving an opportunity for other youngsters in the region to get the kind of support and recognition I did."
