Very laid back.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

It veered between footballer, policeman, sailor and Blue Peter presenter.

Previous jobs?

Butcher and a frozen food manager at Sainsbury's.

Most interesting person you've interviewed for radio?

BB King was my first interview and Sir Bobby Robson was constantly interesting.

Who you would most enjoy being stuck in a lift with?

Shakespeare.

Proudest achievement?

A bronze Sony Award... at least it leaves me something to strive for!

Where do you go when you need a quiet moment?

The study.

Any bad habits?

Not letting people finish their sentences.

Your happiest memory?

The birth of my children.

Bad memories?

Tipping a plate of roast chicken and all the trimmings over a wedding guest when I was a waiter or being tossed by a bull in Spain - both were equally painful!
