BBC Introducing: The Matadors from Newcastle

The Matadors
The Matadors take their inspiration from 60s greats like The Beatles

Influenced by The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, The Matadors are four-piece band from Newcastle. We gave them eight chances to grab your attention.

Describe your sound in three words...

Moody, overdriven and solid.

You'll like us if you listen to...

The Smiths, The Libertines, The Doors or Arctic Monkeys.

Music is important because…

Music is all about the expression, it's kind of like a language of its own. It can express how you feel or what you want to say.

To try us out listen to our song…

Worst Thing or Dark Horse. Listen on MySpace

Our biggest inspiration is…

The 60s and 70s, when music was at its peak. The Beatles, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin all play a big part in how we sound.

Our most popular venue is…

The Academy 2, Head of Steam or a load of different venues around North East.

You'll know we've made it when you see us…

On a stage down at Glastonbury or on the front of one of those music magazines.

In 10 years time we want to be...

Signed with a record label, had a few albums out, playing big venues and selling them out.
