What to expect from the Great North Run

The world's biggest half-marathon has become much more than just a run over its 30 year existence.

It's become the high point for many, who have dedicated themselves to the intense training and, to raise money for their chosen charity.

For others it's a family day out, and a rollercoaster ride of emotion in an almost carnival-style atmosphere with thousands of runners and even more spectators.

This video is a taster of what to expect if you participate or spectate.
