The event is on Friday 14 May at 10am

Are you thinking about placing a parent, grandparent or loved one into residential care?

It can be a difficult and worrying time - both emotionally and financially.

An event to advise people how to pay for the care of the elderly is being held at 10.00am on Friday 14 May 2010 at the Holiday Inn in High Wycombe.

Local politicians and insurance company representatives will be available to offer free advice and information.

Age Concern

The event is organised by Age Concern in Buckinghamshire who hope the debate will be very interesting and topical.

Three local politicians including the Conservative MP for Aylesbury David Liddington will attend.

There will be financial and insurance experts on hand to give advice and provide information.

Hotline

In partnership with the charity Action on Elder Abuse BBC Three Counties is running a year long campaign called Who Cares?

It aims to change the law to better protect adults and create a network of care champions who will change the lives of older people.

A hotline has been created exclusively for people in Beds, Herts and Bucks.

You can call 0808 801 0345 anonymously and in confidence if you think an older person is being abused or neglected.

Or just call to get advice and information from our trained volunteers.

Calls are free from a BT landline, calls from mobiles and other networks may cost considerably more.
