A 150-year-old family run business in Newport Pagnell is to play an important role in the forthcoming marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton.

Vellum producers William Cowley has been given the honour of producing the parchment paper for the royal marriage certificate.

The company is the only firm of its kind in the country and one of only four producers of vellum in the world.

Producing vellum of this quality is a true art form and can take up to six weeks to produce just one sheet.

The company is also looking ahead to the 2012 Olympics when they hope to be able to supply the certificates for all the medallists.
