Taking you back 40 years, John Foster on BBC Tees
|
To celebrate 40 years of local radio, BBC Tees' John Foster looked back at how we got to where we are now. He caught up with old presenters, looked at what the shows were like, and asked you to share your memories too. The show went out over Christmas 2010, but it proved to be so popular that we've made it available for you to listen to over and over again. So take a trip down memory lane with us, and toast to another forty years of BBC Tees! Turn back time
The programme follows the station's progression from the first broadcast of BBC Radio Teesside at 55 Albert Road, right up to BBC Tees at its current home on the Newport Triangle, at Broadcasting House. John Foster looks at how the jingles and sound of the radio station have changed, how the names and buildings have changed, and how we now get all the local, national, and international news to you.
Catch up with old names from BBC Tees' past, and find out what they really thought about working in local radio, and about fires, rats, and all the other behind the scenes stories!
