When the Christmas lights are turned on in your town centre, it signals the start of that festive feel.
For families, the turning on of the lights can be a happy memory to share together.

Sunday 21 November - Darlington Market Square
Starting at 3pm and ending at 4.30pm with the switch on and fireworks display.
Entertainment includes local dance and singing performances, Pirate Combat with Fit-Lab, and a Christmas Parade with Santa.
Thursday 18 November - Town Centre
5.30pm start, with a 6.15pm switch-on. This will take place in the centre of town, near Spectra-txt.
Sunday 28 November - Stockton High Street
Event starts at 4pm and the lights will be switched on at 6pm.
Stockton Sparkles Festival launches with this illuminating celebration with personal appearances by Coronation Street's Becky and LazyTown's Sportacus and Stephanie UK actors - officially approved by LazyTown.
Saturday 20 November - High Street
The full day's entertainment will begin at 9am. Including stilt walkers and art fairs, and children's rides to keep the little ones happy.
The parade will set off from Park Hotel at 4.30pm making its way along the High Street, for the official switch-on of the lights at 5pm. This will be followed by Community carol singing.

Sunday 21 November - Marketplace
Kicking off at 2pm, the official turning on of the lights will be at 5.45pm.
This year, two of Emmerdale's infamous Dingle clan, Cain and Marlon, along with local vet and currently Marlon's love interest, Rhona Goskirk will be flicking the switch.
