Commemorations are taking place throughout the North East on Remembrance Sunday, to mark the lives of those who have died serving their country. Services will be held at churches and wreaths will be laid at cenotaphs. Veterans, cadets and military personnel will also march through town and city centres.
Stockton 10:25
The Royal British Legion will hold a Remembrance Day parade in Stockton High Street. The parade will assemble in Yarm Lane at 10:25am and move off in time for a wreath-laying at the cenotaph beside the Parish Church at 10:50am. After the service, the parade will march down the High Street when the Mayor of Stockton, Councillor Paul Kirton, will take the Salute.
Redcar 10:40
The Council's Mayor, Councillor Brian Briggs will lay a wreath on behalf of the Council at the Redcar Branch of the Royal British Legion's Annual Remembrance Day Parade and Service. The parade, led by the Cleveland Police Band, will form up at the Coatham Road Social Club and march off at 10:40 am for the 11am service at the War Memorial on Coatham Road.
Middlesbrough 10:30
Middlesbrough Cenotaph will see two Remembrance Day events, one on the first Thursday of November, and one on Sunday.

104 Pioneer Squadron, based in Coulby Newham, will this year be joined by officers and soldiers of 34 HQ Squadron and 101 Pioneer Squadron. They will all attend a service of remembrance at the Middlesbrough Cenotaph at 10:30am before conducting a march past. The Mayor of Middlesbrough, Ray Mallon, will take the salute.
Hartlepool 11:00
Services will be held at Victory Square in the town centre and at the Headland War Memorial. A parade led by the Sea Cadets Band will leave the Market Square at 10:45am. Following the service, there will be a march past, and a salute of the cenotaph.
Darlington 10:00
A remembrance service will be held in Holy Trinity Church. There will then be a further act of remembrance and a wreath laying ceremony at the cenotaph in the grounds of Darlington Memorial Hospital.
Durham 10:15
A service of Remembrance will be held at Durham Cathedral at 10:15am. Following the Act of Remembrance, military and civilian contingents will march through the city to the Market Square and past the Mayor of Durham and other dignitaries. Remembrance services will also take place at churches throughout the region.
