Redcar hosts kite championships

Redcar hosted the British Kite Surfing Championships Finals on Thursday 8 until Sunday 11 October.

The Redcar Kiteival featured the UK's top professionals battling it out on Redcar beachfront for all to see.

The event showcased kite surfing, and saw the Men's and Women's UK Champion crowned over three different kite sports.

The sports being displayed were kite landboarding, kite buggying and kite surfing.

The event aimed to put Redcar beachfront firmly on the kite surfing map, as well as hopefully inspiring a whole new generation of water sports enthusiasts, not to mention providing a great weekend of entertainment.
