Nunthorpe Methodist Church is celebrating with song

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the building of Nunthorpe Methodist Church.

As part of the year of celebrations the church is hosting a "Come and Sing" rehearsal and performance of Handel's Messiah on Saturday 26 March 2011.

The Director and Conductor will be Mr. John Forsyth, Conductor of the Cleveland Philharmonic Choir.

There will be some space for an audience of those wishing to listen to the performance but not sing.

Messiah

To mark the 50th Anniversary of the completion of the present church building, a series of events will run throughout 2011.

The anniversary weekend of 16-18 September will be celebrated in style with a Festival of Flowers and Talents, but starting the celebrations is the "Come and Sing" Messiah.

The Watkins Shaw edition of the Messiah will be used during the event on Saturday 26 March and copies will be provided on the day.

Rehearsals will take place during the day, and the performance will begin at 1900 GMT.
