My anti-obesity diary: Week Four

My anti-obesity diary: Week Four

A teenager from Darlington has been fitted with a gastric band, after reaching a weight of 24 stone.

Nineteen year old Abigail Bryan, a DJ by trade, first applied for the procedure at the age of just 13.

Doctors have warned that the procedure is not a miracle cure for obesity, but Abigail believes it was the only solution for her.

Four weeks after the operation Abigail is enjoying the energy and confidence her weight loss has given her.

Week Four

I am so glad that I had this operation before I started university at Teesside!

I have had such a great time over fresher's week, my friend is living in Middlesbrough and we were at college together for the past three years so I have been staying at her house all week.

We went out every night apart from Thursday and Friday when I was out DJing in Richmond and Northallerton.

I would never have had the energy to go out every night before I had lost this weight, I also felt so much better about how I looked.

Even though I am still in plus size clothes I can now get some fashionable clothes to go out in.

I always used to think people were looking and laughing at me but now I don't really care because if they say anything I just laugh, I mean how can they say I'm massive when I have lost five stones?

I just say 'Hey you don't know what fat is mate!'

I got to see DJ Calvin Harris too, which was awesome, and by pure luck we just happened to be standing by his car when he came out of the venue so he let us take a photo and signed my dress, which is now in a frame and will never be worn again.
