Students receive A Level results

A Levels are out, and some students got the results they wanted.

Students at Middlesbrough College's new campus celebrated their A Level results for the first time in the new building at Middlehaven in Middlesbrough.

The new campus is is an amalgamation of the four previously separate Middlesbrough College bases.

It boasts A Level and vocational studies, under one roof.

BBC Look North's Richard Thomas went along to see the students open their results, and to find out about their future plans.

For some, the next step after A Levels is to start work.

The pass rate has risen for yet another year, leading to the inevitable charges that A levels are becoming easier.

There is a concern that with so many students getting the grades they need, there may not be enough university places to go round. Many students at Middlesbrough College have opted to take the vocational route, rather than A levels.

It's not success all round, though. There are some students who didn't do so well. And for them, the process of trying to find a University or training place is underway.

Ten Grade A's

There is one student however, from Teesside High in Eaglescliffe, that has all grades A's.

But not content with maybe two three or four subjects - she has ten!

Amelia's by the far the most successful A level student ever to leave Teesside High in Eaglescliffe - and as you can imagine - she's rather happy.
