"The cause is such a worthy one, and unfortunately right now the number of children in need in the UK is growing. I'm really looking forward to doing what I can to raise spirits and lots of cash."

The line-up includes headline acts and well-known faces from entertainment, music and sport.

See dance acts Punjabi No 1 and The Box, hear music from Pearl and the Puppets, Clanadonia and The Gospel Truth Choir and see comedians Fred MacAulay, Daniel Sloss, Mark Nelson, Craig Hill, Des Clarke, Janey Godley and Nina Conti take to the stage.

Presenter Jackie Bird said: "Children in Need does such good work for young people the length and breadth of Scotland that it is vital we raise as much money as we can.

"The show is always exciting, but this year we're really pushing the boat out for our fundraisers and viewers. I hope that in return people will give what they can. It's all hugely appreciated."
