Hawfinches thrive at Scone Palace

The research project is backed by the British Trust for Ornithology

When did you last see a hawfinch?

Would you be able to recognise the bird even if you did see it?

Hawfinches are difficult to find and have been placed on the RSPB's Red List of protected birds.

At Scone Palace the birds are increasing in numbers and appear to be thriving.

The Landward team met Neil Morrison from the Tay Ringing Group who are observing the birds to find out how they're thriving in the stately grounds of Scone Palace.

Watch Landward on 16 April or catch up on the BBC iPlayer afterwards.
