Staff from Kingston Technology and Currys in Croydon decided to try to break the world record for the number of people you can fit in one Mini.
The current world record stands at 24 people in one new Mini and was set by the Allstar Cheerleading Team in Auckland, New Zealand Auckland on 25 July 2009.
However, Kingston Technology’s last attempt managed a grand total of 21 people so they were only five short of the current record. This latest attempt was made in the hope they could take the title.
The event did have a more serious side too, as the charity "Vision" which helps blind and visually impaired children all around the world, will benefit from the proceeds of sales on the night.
Do not try driving like this at home! Members of the public were encouraged to join in, if they felt flexible enough to participate in this record-breaking attempt!
Guinness World Records started in 1954 when researchers Norris and Ross McWhirter were commissioned by the managing director of Guinness to write a World Records book following a dispute about game birds!
The Mini has been the subject of many records, including longest convoy, balancing one on your head, and this, the most people you can cram into one! In their attempt the team managed 20 but said "This is not the end, we will keep on trying!"
