The football WAGs 'lead a sad existence'

WAGS at a match
What is life really like for the partners of footballers?

The John Terry affair has shone a light on the strange off-the-pitch world of footballers and their "WAGs".

Hampton Court resident and author Alison Kervin, is a former sports journalist who has spent time with footballers' partners.

She tells the BBC's Today programme what life is really like for a "WAG", the term for the Wives and Girlfriends.
