Matt is a nature loving fitness fanatic prone to making sweeping generalisations
Matt Marvell is a country boy at heart.
Moving from the wilds of Dartmoor to the beautiful Suffolk countryside, he loves both the county and the world of radio.
As a volunteer on the action desk, he first came to BBC Suffolk back in 1996 helping listeners with a variety of problems and queries.
He then worked for a glazing company in Stowmarket and made an unforgettable impression on his colleagues by getting his van stuck in a ditch near Rattlesden the first time he was allowed out on the road.
Meeting Simon Talbot was he says "the most wonderful day of my life"* and it was not long before they were both presenting a show called "The Urban Sofa Beat Collective" on Ipswich Community Radio.
He has been a BBC Suffolk presenter since 2008 and you may even hear his voice appearing on trails promoting the station.
Matt lives near Stradbroke with his wife, horse, four cats and a dog.
* He might not actually have used these exact words.
Matt & Simon did a turn at the Children in Need Suffolk HAS Talent variety show at the Felixstowe Spa Pavilion in November 2009:
