Have your say on Praise and Grumble by calling Matt, Graham, and John

If you follow Stoke City, Port Vale or Crewe Alexandra, Praise & Grumble on BBC Radio Stoke lets you sound off.

Whether it's to rant or rave, or tell us your story, P&G takes your calls every Friday (6pm-7pm), and Saturdays after match commentary.

You can get involved by: calling 01782 208008 during the show, e-mailing sport.stoke@bbc.co.uk, or texting 81333 (starting your message with STOKE).

If you can't call live, leave a message on our 24/7 answerphone 01782 221215.

If you miss either of our phone-in sessions, you can hear both shows via the BBC iPlayer for a whole seven days after transmission. It's available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online.

You can also stay in touch via the messageboards on our Praise and Grumble Facebook page. Some of the messages posted there will be read out on the P&G show.

Meet the Sports team

Sports Editor Graham McGarry has been at the helm of the BBC Radio Stoke sports department since 1994.

After overseeing weekly duties at the sports-desk, he provides coverage of Crewe Alexandra's games both home and away. Graham said: "The highlight so far in my broadcasting career was to produce and present the Alex's play off triumph at Wembley in 1997."

John Acres is usually the voice of BBC Radio Stoke presenting Saturday and Tuesday matches, as well as being on the receiving end of your calls on Praise and Grumble.

You'll often find John sitting alongside Nigel Johnson , the voice of Stoke City, in the commentary box at Potters games.
Nige has followed City through the highs of the Premier League and lows of Division 3 over the last twenty years.

Stoke playing legends Nigel Gleghorn and Denis Smith are also often on hand to provide their expert eye on the game as our summarisers.

Matt Sandoz is our resident Valiant, bringing you all the scoops and goings-on from inside Vale Park. You'll sometimes hear Matt presenting Midweek Sport too.

To hear the lighter side of football in the Potteries and South Cheshire, you can check out our podcast The Stoke & Staffordshire Football Round-Up .

As well as going behind-the-scenes with the BBC Radio Stoke sports team the lads expose plenty of gaffes galore from commentators and players alike.

Burton and Tamworth

The fortunes of Burton Albion are followed by BBC Radio Derby Sport , and those of Tamworth by BBC Radio WM's sports team .
Stafford Rangers are covered by BBC Radio Stoke.

FAQs

Football commentary restrictions

Sadly we are not allowed, by regulation, to stream on the internet Radio Stoke's match commentaries for any league match. (Though we can stream non-league) or Carling Cup match.
So, for example, no Stoke City commentaries from us can be heard online.

However, the good news is that we are allowed to stream friendlies and FA Cup games live (in the UK only).

BBC Radio Stoke does share its Stoke City and Vale commentaries with the clubs; and the clubs DO have the right to stream the commentary on their own websites. The clubs make a charge for that service (but please note that the BBC does not receive any money from those subscriptions).

BBC Radio Derby has a similar arrangement with Burton Albion's website.

Goal highlights

BBC regional opt-outs (eg Midlands Today) and the Late Kick-Off TV programme now show the goal highlights from Port Vale, Burton Albion and Crewe games.

For matches played on a Saturday, you can see the goals on Monday's programmes. For midweek games, you can see the goals on the following day's BBC regional news opt-out.
Sunday goals will normally be available from early on Tuesday morning; mid-week game goals will normally be available from around 10pm on the following day.

The video highlights are available as part of the BBC Sport Online match report for seven days; and you can access all the material via our Sport section (Please note that the video service is only available to internet users in the UK).

Reports and scores

Live scores and match reports will be available for all league teams for almost all of their matches - and you'll find links through to those games from our Sport section . Some post-match interviews and previews will also be available.
