Pontardawe Festival's annual celebration of world music and dance has taken place every August, with one exception, since 1978. Pictured are Calan on the main stage.
It developed from a small folk festival into an international event attracting thousands of visitors. And the festival includes a street parade - above is one of the participants getting ready to take to the streets.
Part of the daylight parade and its musicians. The festival was the idea of the late Brian Harris, a local teacher, councillor and founder of the Valley Folk Club in Pontardawe in 1967.
One of the festival's historic claims to fame is having put together the “largest haka in Britain” as performed by some 1,000 festival visitors after one of a workshop with Te Vaka! Above are Bear Bones Festival Ceilidh Band.
