Cardiff City Travel Tips

The new Cardiff City stadium at Leckwith is set to be one of the busiest football grounds in the Championship, as the Bluebirds often attract more than 10,000 fans. It'll also be home to the Cardiff Blues rugby team.

Here are the best ways to get there from out of town - it's just across the road from Ninian Park.

By ROAD

• Head for the M4 in South Wales - if you're coming over the Severn Bridges you'll need cash to pay the toll. The charges as of 1 January 2009 are £5.40 for cars, £10.90 minibuses and £16.30 coaches.
• Turn off at M4 junction 33 - Cardiff West
• Take the A4232 - head for Cardiff West/Barry, 3.5 miles
• Turn off for B4267 - City Centre, first left at roundabout
• Continue past Asda and the retail park
• The new Cardiff City Stadium is on your right

By RAIL

Cardiff Central Station - one mile from Ninian Park

• Exit for City Centre/Millennium Stadium
• Turn left out of the station and walk towards Wood Street
• Cross bridge on left over River Taff into Tudor Street
• Continue straight ahead into Ninian Park Road
• Turn left under railway bridge on Leckwith Road
• Turn left at traffic lights into Sloper Road
• The new Cardiff City Stadium is on your right, opposite Ninian Park

Ninian Park Station - right by the ground

• Arrive at Cardiff Central Station
• Look for a train heading for Radyr
• Check that it calls at Ninian Park - not all of them do
• Ninian Park is the first stop after Cardiff Central
• Leave station via Leckwith Road
• Turn left at traffic lights into Sloper Road
• The new Cardiff City stadium is on your right, opposite Ninian Park

• Take the X91 Airbus to Jubilee Park by the ground
• Or take a taxi to the new Cardiff City Stadium for around £20
