Students at Cardiff University are being invited to join in programmes and workshops run by BBC Radio 4.

Jonathan Dimbleby, Sandi Toksvig and Quentin Cooper are among the presenters who'll be visiting the Welsh capital on 12 and 13 November.

The pilot university tour has already visited Derby and Bedfordshire.

Commissioning editor Caroline Raphael said: "We thought it would be a great way of showcasing Radio 4 to the curious minds of tomorrow."

"The tour is a pilot, so we can't say if it will become a regular fixture, but I'm sure it will be a really informative and fun experience for the students, and of course our production teams," she added.

Any Questions, The News Quiz, Bespoken Word and The Material World are among the regular Radio 4 programmes which will be recorded in Cardiff during the visit.

Comedian Steve Punt will host a pilot for The 3rd Degree, a new general knowledge quiz show which will pit three undergraduates against three members of the university staff.

A series of workshops will cover journalism, performance poetry and features production.

There'll also be a look at how the BBC Wales sci-fi TV series Torchwood was adapted for radio, and a session to show scientists how to explain the complexities of their work to a radio audience.

Tickets for the programme recordings and workshops will be available exclusively to students and staff at Cardiff University.
