Representatives of a Cardiff-based disability arts organisation are heading east to Hong Kong to present lectures and seminars about their work.

Touch Trust offers creative movement programmes for people of all ages with profound and multiple disabilities.

The charity's director Dilys Price OBE and her colleague Charlotte Aubrey will spend time working at a special school and lecturing at Hong Kong university.

The invitation follows a visit to their base at the Wales Millennium Centre.

A delegation of arts practitioners from China spent an afternoon at Touch Trust, including a lecturer in dance from Hong Kong University who was particularly interested in what she saw.

She invited Touch Trust on a reciprocal visit and with support from the British Council they were able to accept.

During the ten day visit Dilys will deliver lectures and seminars at the Centre for Special Needs and Studies in Inclusive Education - part of Hong Kong University. She'll also run workshops at the Jockey Club Sarah Roe school.

Dilys was invited to the school by the head teacher Alan Howells, formerly of Ysgol Y Gogarth in north Wales.

Touch Trust has trained staff from the special school and hopes to link with the Jockey Club Sarah Roe School in the same way.

Dilys said she and Charlotte were looking forward their trip to the Far East.

"We are delighted to be going on this visit and to be introducing the programme to Hong Kong," she said.

"We know we can alter lives - from babies to the elderly. We aim for happiness and a sense of wellbeing and it's fun too!"

She and Charlotte leave for Hong Kong on 6 November.

Around 150 people attend sessions at Touch Trust's headquarters in Cardiff Bay.

The charity also has 21 outreach centres across the UK in locations such as Bath, Portsmouth, Southampton and right across Wales.
