Get close to wildlife, says Kate

Kate Humble

Nature presenter Kate Humble says the 42% of people in Wales who haven't seen a wild animal in five years are missing out.

A survey commissioned by Visit Scotland also found that 7% of respondents in Wales said they'd never seen a wild animal in its natural habitat.

Kate, who lives in the Wye Valley in south Wales, urges people to explore their local area in search of wildlife.

She told Sarah Dickins of BBC Radio Wales that many local groups and companies offered guided tours for anyone nervous or unsure of where to look.
