Legendary record producer Tony Visconti explains why he was happy to work with Debbie Clarke, an unknown young singer from Monmouth who contacted him via email.

He told Alan Thompson of BBC Radio Wales that he was impressed by her "very pure, very honest" voice which reminded him of his ex-wife, Mary Hopkin.

Visconti agreed to produce the 26-year-old singer's debut EP by recording backing tracks in New York and supervising recording sessions in Cardiff via webcam.
