Baby on board for Cerys Matthews tour
Cerys Matthews

Cardiff-born singer Cerys Matthews is looking forward to taking her baby boy with her on a two week tour of the UK.

The former Catatonia frontwoman plays ten dates in twelve days during April, including Cardiff, Newport, Wrexham, Aberystwyth, Llanelli and Builth Wells.

She gave birth to her third child eight weeks early in November, just days after presenting Children in Need.

But she told Alan Thompson of BBC Radio Wales that having a baby to look after wouldn't stop her performing.

"I feel quite lucky that I can do this kind of thing - the baby's coming with me on tour," she said.

"I can sit down and play the guitar - I don't have to rock out so much."

The Don't Look Down tour will give fans another chance to hear music from Cerys' latest solo album, released last October.

A new single, Into The Blue, is released on 22 February.
