The BBC National Orchestra of Wales is the latest artistic organisation to make its home at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
The orchestra officially opened the venue on 22 January 2009 with the first of two gala concerts as the start of an opening festival.
Pianist Llyr Williams was one of the opening night's performers.
The orchestra's principal conductor Thierry Fischer.
Architect Tim Green says: "The concept behind the design of the interior of Hoddinott Hall was that of a traditional Welsh chapel."
As well as a base for the orchestra's rehearsals and recordings, the hall will serve as a 350-seater concert venue.
The hall was designed to serve as a large bespoke recording studio with the facility to accommodate an audience.
The Grace Williams Studio will provide auxiliary rehearsal space for the Orchestra and a base for its education and outreach work.
Artist Lubna Chowdhary has designed a ceramic tile mural based on the theme of a nocturne, a favourite mood of Hoddinott's.
