Space hopper film is internet hit for students

A short film by two students from the University of Glamorgan is proving to be a hit on the internet.

Space Hoppers in Venice was made by Marko Anstice and Shelley Jones, both 20 years old and from Cardiff.

The stop-motion film features Marko and Shelley hurtling around the historic Italian city on flying space hoppers.

It took three hours to film and two days to edit, and cost virtually nothing to make.

Shelley said they were inspired by "boredom" while Marko "loved the irony of doing something silly against that backdrop."

The film has been shortlisted for an award at Ffresh 2011, a student film festival at the University of Glamorgan's Atrium campus from 9 to 11 February.
