Not sure what to do this weekend? Here's a few suggestions with our guide (Friday 13 - Sunday 15 November)

Carnival
Gemini Carnival Club, To the Trees
Gemini Carnival Club's To The Trees float will be at Bridgwater Carnival

Carnival season continues with the Guy Fawkes circuit moving on to three more towns.

Wells Carnival takes places on Friday evening, while on Saturday the carts head off to Glastonbury before the finale on Monday night in Weston-super-Mare, where the winners of the County Cup will be announced.

Music

Original Celtic jazz music comes to Camerton on Friday evening.

Band Sensorium, led by composer Colin Tully on saxophone will perform as will folk musicians John Hooper and Ali Nourse.

The concert is being held to raise funds for Children's Hospice South West.

Camerton Community Hall, Meadgate, from 7pm. Tickets are £5.

Christmas Fairs

It's a good weekend for Christmas Fairs!

On Saturday there's Lyn & Myrtle's Annual Christmas Fair at Ashcott Village Hall (11am-1pm, free entry) and Spaxton Village Hall's fair which runs from 10am-4pm.

Taunton's main shopping centre, Orchard (formerly known the Old Market Centre), is celebrating the completion of its refurbishment with a sparkling Winter Fair on Saturday and Sunday.

There'll be music supplied by The Mangled Wurzels, as well as face painting and street entertainers.

Sport

A 19-year-old from Somerset who has been selected to play for the England Women's Rugby A team will be teaching children rugby.

Charlotte Male will make her debut against New Zealand Women's Rugby team on Tuesday at Esher Rugby Club in Surrey, but to prepare for that, she'll be at Crewkerne Leisure Centre on Saturday.

A "cross country winter cycle sport" is set blaze through Chard on Sunday.

Holyrood Community School is to host the event which involves cycling at high speed while negotiating corners, banks and bunny hopping obstacles. Riders often need to shoulder their bikes to climb low hurdles or get through mud!

The event begins at 10.30am with an Under 12s race, followed by a Youth race, before the Main race, featuring the area's expert Cyclo-Cross riders, which is due to start at 12.30pm.

Festival

No-Time is the mystical time between Halloween and the Winter Solstice.

The festival aims to "inspire and warm us" through this dark time of the year.

Music from local bands Long Meg and Tapes + Ashes, as well as atmospheric sessions of storytelling, ancient and modern, and readings and performances from local poets will take place around outdoor round fires - weather permitting!

Secret Meadow, near Milverton, on Saturday, 14 November, from 6 pm until midnight. Tickets are £5

Family

Fancy winning a wedding? Well the venue anyway.

Couples thinking about getting married or forming a civil partnership are being invited to consider the Old Municipal Buildings in Taunton as a venue.

On Sunday, Somerset Registration Service will open its doors to the public at the Old Municipal Buildings in Corporation Street where couples who visit will be able to take part in a competition to win their wedding or civil partnership ceremony.

The Old Municipal Buildings will be open on Sunday, 15 November 2009, from 10am until 4 m.
