Carnival
Gemini Carnival Club's To The Trees float will be at Bridgwater Carnival
The world's biggest illuminated carnival starts its Guy Fawkes circuit at Bridgwater on Friday night. A Somerset tradition, Bridgwater Carnival will see over 100 carts decorated with dancing robots and flashing pyrotechnics make its way through Bridgwater town centre. FA Cup

Talking of the FA Cup, you can take a gander at it as will be at Yeovil Town Football Club on Friday from 11am - 7pm.
Horse racing
Saturday will see Wincanton Racecourse host the Badger Ales Raceday. With a total prize fund of £215,000, champion trainer Paul Nicholls has a 16 strong-entry for Saturday's card.
Fireworks
Fire works events are taking place throughout the county

Many people across the county will be holding firework events, and Priddy Friendly Society are no different. Starting at 6.30pm on Saturday, all of the money raised will go to various organisations in the village such as the local school and pre-school.
Christmas Fayre
Make a head-start on the Christmas shopping by snapping up some bargains at the Weston Hospicecare Christmas Bazaar this weekend. The annual event raises vital funds for Weston Hospice at Uphill, which provides care for about 1,100 people with life-limiting illnesses in the North Somerset area and neighbouring parts of Somerset and is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2009. The bazaar takes place on Saturday from 2pm to 4.30pm at Weston Hospicecare's Jackson-Barstow House, 28 Thornbury Road, Uphill.
Auction
Two fire engines once kept in a Somerset shed are being auctioned off. The vehicles are being sold at a sale which will also include other fire memorabilia including red buckets and old hoses as well as classic cars and motorbikes. Remembrance Day
Finally a series of Remembrance Day services will be taking place on Sunday. - Chard: St Mary's Church, 10.50am (starting at the war memorial)
- Crewkerne: St Batholemews Church, 11.15am
- Ilminster: The Minster, 3pm
- Midsomer Norton: a wreath will be placed on the War Memorial in the High Street at 11, then a parade to St John's Church where the Royal British Legion will hold a service
- Radstock: A wreath will be laid at the War Memorial in Waterloo Road
