Members of the Catholic community in Frome have taken part in an award-winning radio series - 'Let Us Pod'. Parishioners and clergy at St Catharine of Alexandria Church on Park Road have taken part in Clifton Diocese's new podcast series, 'Frome Focus'. The five part series includes episodes welcoming listeners to Frome, a visit to the popular parish soup lunch, a conversation with Parish Priest Father Joe O'Brien about his ministry, a visit to the unique St Dominic's Chapel in Mells, and an exploration of the ministry of the permanent diaconate with Deacon David Brinn. Deacon David Brinn said: "Our parish here in Frome is a lively mix of people from many backgrounds and various ages. "It was great to take part in the 'Frome Focus' podcast series. I know that many of us who where interviewed and many other parishioners will be listening to the podcasts. "'Frome Focus' gives us the opportunity of explaining what we do as a local Catholic community." The Diocese recently won a Sony Gold Award (which is the radio equivalent of an Oscar) and a World Gold Medal award from the New York Radio Festival for a special program called 'The Budgerigar and the Prisoner'. This was about a prisoner's journey and redemption aided by his caring for a budgerigar. 'Frome Focus' is available for download from the
Diocese's
website.
