Pride of Somerset Youth Awards
Luke Harris
Luke Harris was recognised in the 2010 awards for his fundraising work

Do you know a special young person who has done something outstanding which should be recognised?

If so, nominate them for the Pride of Somerset Youth Awards.

BBC Somerset has teamed up with The Rotary Club of Taunton and the County Gazette to organise this event.

Its aim is to celebrate the positive contribution young people make in the community, whether it is fundraising, caring for parents or showing courage and resolve in difficult circumstances.

The closing date for entrants is 16 February 2011.

So if you know someone who should be celebrated for their care work, sporting talent or overcoming personal challenges in the face of adversity, then send your nomination through to us here at BBC Somerset.

Entrants to the award have to be 20 or under.

Please can you email us here at BBC Somerset these details:

  • Your name
  • Full name of person being nominated
  • Their age
  • Full address of person being nominated
  • Their phone number
  • Their email address (if known)
  • Your daytime contact number

And please can you say in no more than 200 words why they should win the award.

The winner will be crowned at a special ceremony on 4 March 2011.
