Langer talks of love for Somerset

Justin Langer
Australian cricketer Langer joined Somerset in 2006

Somerset cricketer and former Australian test batsman Justin Langer has spoken of his love of the county.

As Somerset's County Cricket club captain, Langer spends six months of the year here with his family.

Langer told BBC Somerset's Adam Thomas: "I have four beautiful daughters and we just love being in the countryside.

"We live in a little village just outside of Taunton; the kids go to a little village school which is different to what we have at home and we just love the surroundings."

Back home in Australia Langer has a very different lifestyle, spending most of his spare time on the beach.

"Here we're surrounded by greenery, cows and sheep, squirrels and deer. I tell my friends back home and they think it's like fairyland," he said.

"We're excited every time we come back. The people are fantastic; they've been so friendly and we've been so welcomed. It's just a beautiful part of the world to live in."
