Comedian's gig at Yeovil's Elim Pentecostal church
Milton Jones
Milton is best known for his quick-fire puns and dramatic hairstyle

Television comedian Milton Jones will be holding a free one-off show at Yeovil's Elim Pentecostal Church.

It is in support of a national campaign called Back to Church Sunday which aims to encourage people to attend service.

Milton Jones is a regular guest on Mock the Week and has made comedy shows like The Very World of Milton Jones.

Reverend Dave Meggers said: "Milton's one of the best comedians around and we're over the moon that he's kind enough to fit us into his schedule.

"I think some people will be a bit surprised to see a comedian in a church on a Sunday night but we like to do things a bit differently than the usual stereotypes.

"As Milton says in one of his shows, 'Christians need to get away from religious cliches - Amen!"

The gig will be at Elim Pentecostal Church, Southville, Yeovil on Sunday, 26 September at 8pm. The event is free and open to everyone, not just members of the congregation, but you will need to turn up early to avoid disappointment.
