Clare Ashford in the afternoon

Clare Ashford

Local girl Clare Ashford grew up in Weston Rhyn and went to Oswestry Girls High School and then Croeswylan... not so very long ago she'd quickly add!

Since then she's worked at a few radio stations across the country. She even won a Sony Award for Best Newcomer while working at Capital.

Clare's likes food (but admits to not being a great cook).

She also loves travelling and animals, particularly dogs. She shares her home with a cat.

The all-action presenter isn't afraid of taking a walk on the wild side of life - She's done skiing, scuba diving, a parachute jump for charity, and even owns a motorbike licence. "I once enjoyed being half scared to death by going round Donnington on the back of a bike with 'Rocket Ron' Haslem."

Apart from a hope to trek the Inca Trail in Peru, Clare's main ambition is to swim with dolphins (yes she knows it's a bit cheesy!).

Tune in from 2pm Monday to Friday for star interviews and fantastic music.
