Drama time at the Belfry Festival
Belfry Drama Festival
The Belfry Drama Festival is underway

Drama Groups from all over the country are gathering at the Belfry Theatre in Wellington for the 36th annual amateur drama festival.

There are 25 trophies to be won in various classes for both youth groups and adult actors.

The festival is affiliated to the National Drama Festivals Association, so the winning group could be eligible for the British All Winners contest.

The festival for one act and full length plays starts on 31 October.

This year's judge is a member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators, Jon Scowen from Essex.

All the plays this year are one act, except for the Belfry Youth Theatre production of Midsummer Night's Dream on Wednesday, 4 November.

The week's entertainment culminates with the awards ceremony on Saturday, 7 November.
