School closures - How it works

All head teachers in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin have our emergency contact numbers. Once they telephone our team, we confirm their status using a pre-determined code number, different for each school.

As soon as we receive the details we broadcast them on radio and publish them on this webpage. The frequency that schools' details are read out on radio will depend on how many schools are closed and therefore how long the list is.

Please do not contact us to ask if your school is closed. By tying up our studio staff you are compromising our efforts. Rather, listen to your radio or keep refreshing this webpage.
