Audio slideshow: Silhouette memories

The Silhouette underwear company was set up by the Lobbenberg and Blumenau families in
Cologne in 1887. However, with the rise of the Nazi party in the 1930s, the business moved
to Britain.

After transferring from London to first Shrewsbury, then Market Drayton, the company became
a major worldwide brand. The company combined commercial success with a reputation as
a good employer.

Former workers remember fondly their time at the Market Drayton factory.
