Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol star in My Name is Khan
Rizwan Khan (Tanay Chheda) is a Muslim child with Asperger syndrome. He grows up with his mother (Zarina Wahab) in the Borivali section of Mumbai.
As an adult (Shahrukh Khan) Rizwan moves to San Francisco, living with his brother and sister-in-law. He falls in love with a Hindu single mother Mandira (Kajol) who he later marries.
The couple live a blissful life up to the 9/11 attacks. Following this Rizwan and Mandira begin to face a number of difficulties, causing them to separate.
During that time the authorities arrest and detain Rizwan. They interpret the visible aspects of his condition as suspicious behaviour.
While in detention he meets Radha (Sheetal Menon), a therapist who helps him overcome his ordeal.
Rizwan then begins a long journey across America, meeting President Barack Obama (Christopher B Duncan), to clear his name and win Mandira back in this touching story of love and hope.
The movie has been directed by Karan Johar and stars the magic pair Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol after a period of nine years. They last appeared together in the box office hit Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001).
My Name is Khan is releasing on an international level by Hollywood distributor, Twentieth Century Fox.
