Panto season is upon us Oh yes it is! If you are thinking you would like to have a giggle over the festive period here are a few suggestions of pantomimes taking place across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.

Aladdin ran at Barnsley's Lamproom Theatre until Wednesday 30th December 2009.
Dick Whittington and His Cat
The Montgomery Hall in Wath Upon Dearne toldthe tale of Dick Whittington and his cat until 31st January 2010.
The Academy Theatre in Birdwell, Barnsley hosted Mother Goose until 24th December 2009.
Puss in Boots
Penistone Theatre Group presented Puss in Boots at the Penistone Paramount until Saturday 6th February 2010.
The rags to riches fairytale was told in Rotherham until Monday 11th January 2010. This year's production starred Coronation Street's Tom Hudson, better known as Paul Clayton.
Alice in Wonderland
Wesley & Ebenezer Amateur Dramatic Society's annual panto in 2010 was Alice in Wonderland. It ran until 20th February.
Snow White and the Ice Queen
The Darnall Musical Theatre Company presented Snow White and the Ice Queen until Saturday 13th February 2010.
The Manor Operatic Society's annual pantomime this year was Cinderella. It ran until 3rd January 2010.
Jack & Jill
Wales Panto Players performed Jack & Jill until 16th January at the Montgomery Theatre on Surrey Street, Sheffield. Roy Staniforth MBE produced this year's production - in his 65th year as the panto dame!
Little Red Riding Hood
Frecheville Panto held its annual pantomime - this year Little Red Riding Hood - until 20th February 2010. FOPS has been going strong for over 50 years and is a sell out every year.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Sheffield's big panto this year was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and starred BBC Radio Sheffield's Toby Foster as Muddles the Court Jester. Toyah Willcox and Barnsley's Bobby Knutt were also on stage at the Lyceum. The panto ran until Sunday 10th January 2010.
Chesterfield's Pomegranate Theatre celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2009 and the pantomime this year was Cinderella, which ran until Sunday 3rd January.
Doncaster Civic Theatre was another one which performed Cinderella this year. Duncan Norvelle played Buttons, while Liam Mellor and John Triffs were the Ugly Sisters. The show finished on Sunday 3rd January 2010.
Doncaster Little Theatre's pantomime production was Snow White, and ran until Saturday 2nd January 2010.
