Galvanize will run across Sheffield from 24 March to 24 April

Galvanize Sheffield 2011 - The Festival of Contemporary Metal takes place from 25 March to 24 April across the city. Galvanize is a celebration of contemporary metal design, giving an insight into the city's vibrant metalwork industry. The festival programme includes special exhibitions, tours and events. Little Black Dress is an exhibition coming to The Gallery@ The Civic in Barnsley from 31 March. The exhibition will look at the world's most famous examples of little black dresses from Elizabeth Hurley's Versace safety-pin dress to Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany's classic. The exhibition is free and ends on 20 May.

Unicef Art exhibition is on display in Rotherham. The artwork will showcase the work of children from schools throughout Rotherham and Sheffield to raise money and awareness for UNICEF's 'Put it Right for Children' week. The exhibition can be seen at the Imperial Buildings, High Street, Rotherham from 28 March until 2 April. For more information contact Ruby Smith on 0781746184.

The fascinating and spectacular world of renowned showwoman Marisa Carnesky is on display at the University of Sheffield's Western Bank Library. Memoirs of a Showwoman, will include flyers, posters, film, costumes and props from her many productions. Memoirs of a Showwoman, runs until 13 May 2011 - admission is free.

Music and Theatre

Comedian, Dave Spikey
Dave Spikey is appearing in Rotherham and Doncaster

Comedian Dave Spikey is appearing at Rotherham Civic Theatre on 21 April with his new show 'Words Don't Come Easy'. Dave examines many of life's situations where words really don't come easy - from tongue tied parents explaining the facts of life to adolescent chat up lines.

Definitely Mightbe (Oasis tribute) & Changing Man (Paul Weller tribute) are playing the O2 Academy in Sheffield on Saturday 16 April. Tickets are £8.50.

The Sheffield Folk Chorale are performing at St Mary's Church in Ecclesfield on Saturday 9 April at 1930 GMT. The concert will feature traditional folk music and newly written songs from other countries, times and cultures. Tickets £8 and £6 concessions. For more information call 07977 694069.

Outdoors

Blacka Moor
Blacka Moor has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest


Sheffield Wildlife Trust are looking for volunteers to carry out work on Blacka Moor on Saturday 2 April. Tasks vary from footpath improvements to vegetation management. Tea and biscuits will be provided.

Madness
Rotherham Teachers Student Academy will perform songs by 80s band Madness

Our House, a musical medley of Madness songs will be coming to the Rotherham Civic Theatre from 29 March, until 2 April. Tickets are available via the box office on 01709 823621.

Dust off the winter cobwebs and spring into action to take part in Sheffield's third annual Spring Clean. Sheffield Council's Street Force team are asking people to register to help clean an area where you live from 7 March until 30 April.

Cusworth Hall in Doncaster is holding a special exhibition to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The exhibition will run until the 8 May 2011.
