Wytham's Climate Change Champions

Wytham Woods is a large estate on the West of Oxford that is owned by the University. Just under half of the 980 hectares is woodland.

It was sold to the University by Raymond ffennell in 1943 and since then has become one of the most intensively studied woodlands in the world.

It is famed for its large and well monitored badger population.

The woods are also the European base for an international climate change research programme.

The programme is run by the Oxford based Earthwatch institute, HSBC and a number of university departments.
