Lady Rotherwick, Hugh Phillimore and Nightshift Editor Ronan Munro discuss the Cornbury music festival
Two Oxfordshire festivals could go head to head in 2011 during the traditional weekend of the Cornbury Music Festival.
The eighth annual event will move seven miles from its former home on the Cornbury estate near Charlbury to a new site in Great Tew.
Organiser Hugh Phillimore will retain the Cornbury Festival name at the new location and is extending the event by an extra day.
Meanwhile a festival on the grounds of the original estate is still planned.
Lady Rotherwick of the Cornbury Park Estate said: "That weekend there's always been a festival at Cornbury and so we would like to stick to that.
"It will still be a family festival, it will still be wholesome, it will still be beautiful but it will have more than the previous festival."
There have been two applications for a Cornbury festival in 2011
However, Mr Phillimore confirmed that he was in the process of booking acts for 1 to 3 July 2011 on the new premises.
He said: "We know very specifically people in Oxfordshire know that's the Cornbury weekend and we're a bit bemused about [the new festival]."
Cornbury Music Festival Ltd went into liquidation in November.
"I'm the kind of person who has made calls to all my creditors and the majority of them will still be working with us in the future," Mr Phillimore said.
West Oxfordshire District Council said: "We have a number of objections in to the application from Lord Rotherwick from Charlbury residents and Charlbury Town Council.
"This application will be determined by a panel of Elected Members on 10 January 2011. There are currently no objections to the application from Hugh Phillimore."
