Date announced for Big Night Out

This if the fifth Big Night Out event in Nottingham

The people of Notttinghamshire are being encouraged to enjoy an evening in their city centre on Wednesday, 2 December, 2009.

The Big Night Out is the idea of BBC radio presenter Andy Whittaker, who wants Nottinghamians to appreciate what Nottingham has to offer.

Andy will officially welcome everyone and launch the event on the steps of the Council House at 6.30pm.

There will be many special offers at venues across the city on the night.

It is the fifth time that BBC Radio Nottingham breakfast host Andy Whittaker has encouraged the public to come in to Nottingham for a Big Night Out.

He said: "The concept has been so successful that other cities are doing it too, but the original is still the best in my view.

"From theatre to ice skating, I do hope you'll come and try the huge variety of activities available."

As well as a welcome on the steps of the Council House in the Old Market Square there will also be an official photograph.

A range of special offers on the night are being co-ordinated by Nottingham City Council.
