Beeston
Enjoy entertainment, a lantern parade, music, raffle and fireworks on Saturday 28 November between 2.30pm and 6.15pm in Beeston. The lights are switched on at 4.45pm in Beeston Town Square with a fireworks display to follow.
On Tuesday, 24 November there will be a menu of magic, mania and merriment. The Iceman will offer magical crystal ball manipulation, there will be Beatle mania with the internationally renowned Fab Four and merriment with our traditional Santa and Fairy Grotto's, fair ground rides, Christmas Carols, lantern gathering and more from 6.00pm until 8.00pm. At 6.40pm the lantern carriers will lead along Nottingham Road to the Hollies to join the crowds for the switch on ceremony.
There is no official event this year but Mapperley's lights will be turned on from Friday, 27 November.
Netherfield
There is no official event this year but Netherfield's lights will be turned on from Friday, 4 December.
Newark
Newark's lights are to be switched on at 5.00pm on Sunday, 29 November in the Market Place. The event begins at 11.00am with the opening of the Newark Christmas Charity and Craft Market. There will also be fun-fair rides and catering stalls, santa will be in his grotto in the Buttermarket Shopping Centre and music from three local school choirs, Neil Martin performs big band classics and Carlton Male Voice Choir will be belting out seasonal songs.
A winter festival of food and light with a German winter market starting at 10.00am on Tuesday, 1 December. The formal ceremony begins with a candlelight procession at 5.30pm. There will be music from Worksop Miners Welfare Brass Band, a pantomime performance of Cinderella and official switch on of the lights at 6:45pm in the Market Place.

Sherwood Street and High Street will be closed to traffic on Thursday, 10 December, from midday to 9.00pm as Warsop welcomes Christmas. The fun starts when the lights are switched on at 4.00pm by village carnival queen Lauren and local superhero street cleaner Barry. There will be a Christmas market lining the streets and the event will end with a fireworks display.
A day of festive fun happened in West Bridgford on Saturday, 21 November 2009 on Central Avenue and Gordon Road. The entertainment began at 2.00pm with traditional choirs, Father Christmas, a special performance from Britain's Got Talent 2009 semi finalists, Irresistible, before the official switch on at 5.00pm.
