In session: Lisa de'Ville
Lisa de'Ville

Lisa de'Ville played in punk, rock, blues and hip hop bands across the country before she went solo.

She believes music is a source of strength and a way of expressing her thoughts and feelings.

Lisa said: "I used to be into Goth, alternative and indie. Five years ago I got into roots, Americana, country, and that's led to where I am today."

Lisa will be working on an album in 2010 and when it's finished it will be released through Pink Box Records.

Lisa performed Moving On and Neon Lights at the BBC Nottingham studios.

She was a guest of BBC Radio Nottingham's The Beat with Dean Jackson.

You can listen to the show every Saturday night from 6.00pm - 10.00pm (103.8, 95.5FM, 1584AM and DAB).

Listen to the latest edition of The Beat on the BBC iPlayer.
