Watch Red Shoe Diaries perform two songs at the BBC Nottingham studios

Red Shoe Diaries' Mike, Ash and Tom were originally known as Cerveza before they evolved into Red Shoe Diaries.

Leanne joined the band in September 2008 after convincing them they needed a female voice.

She said: "I came to see them play, I had a few beers and plucked up the courage to say, 'you know what would be really good?'"

Mike added: "Leanne's voice made it all come together, a lovely indie-pop sound."

Red Shoe Diaries were a guest of BBC Radio Nottingham's The Beat with Dean Jackson. You can listen to the show every Saturday from 6.00 - 10.00pm.

BBC Radio Nottingham is broadcast on 103.8, 95.5FM, 1584AM and DAB.

Listen to the latest edition of The Beat on the BBC iPlayer.
