In session: Tayla-Jayde

Watch Tayla-Jayde perform two tracks at the BBC Nottingham studios

Nottingham's Tayla-Jayde grew up listening to R 'n' B, reggae and rock, and was taught to sing by her mother.

She has been inspired by many artists but a certain American soul star has created a big impression on her.

She said: "Beyonce inspires me a lot because she's a hard worker and her voice is amazing."

Tayla-Jayde was a guest of BBC Radio Nottingham's The Beat with Dean Jackson. You can listen to the show every Saturday from 6.00 - 10.00pm.

BBC Radio Nottingham is broadcast on 103.8, 95.5FM, 1584AM and DAB.

Listen to the latest edition of The Beat on the BBC iPlayer.
